Also known as: Wolfspitzen, Chiens Loop and Keeshonden
History: 1st
appeared in England and were known as Dutch barge
dogs, English breed club was formed in 1926 naming the
breed Keeshond
Colors and Coats Available: Cream undercoat with
shades of grey with black tips that stand away from the
body. Keeshonds can be cream, orange and sometimes
brown.
Average Heights and Weights: 17 to 19 inches weight ranges from 35 to
55 pounds
Grooming and Special Care Needed: Daily brushing with a
stiff bristle brush
Health Concerns:
Prone to hip dysplasia, hypothyroidism, skin problems
Average Life Span: 12 to 15 years
Best Suitable Environment: Family home with a yard, prefers cool climate because of the thick coat.
Personality/Temperament: Excellent children's pet, lively, alert, affectionate, friendly, outgoing, highly intelligent.
